More Accurate Crown Margins
The fit of a dental crown depends heavily on accurately capturing the crown margin—the exact point where the restoration meets the natural tooth.
When a margin is close to or slightly below the gumline, surrounding tissue can make this area difficult to capture clearly with a digital scanner. Dr. Chae can use the diode laser for gingival troughing, gently creating space around the prepared tooth while maintaining a clean, dry treatment field.
This allows our digital scanner to capture a clear, highly detailed view of the entire crown margin, providing the dental laboratory with precise information to create a beautifully fitting restoration.
Other Uses for Our Dental Laser
Our diode laser can also be used for a variety of soft-tissue procedures, including:
Gingivectomy – Removing excess gum tissue when clinically appropriate
Gum contouring – Reshaping the gumline for improved symmetry and tooth proportions
